The Enhancer is a solar-powered, radio-controlled, rectangular rapid flashing beacon. Two horizontal LED amber lighting units wigwag 76 times per 30 seconds, similar to the flashing sequence on a police cruiser. The signal commands the driver’s attention and greatly increases compliance, according to the Federal Highway Administration and the manufacturer. A voice guidance system on the unit helps pedestrians cross the road safely.
