American City & County extends awards nomination deadlines
American City & County has extended the deadline to submit nominations for the Crown Communities awards until Sept. 11. Entries for the Municipal Leader of the Year award are due Sept. 4.
Crown Communities nominations can include any project completed by a city or county government between November 2008 and August 2009. The winners are featured in the December issue. Projects can encompass virtually any aspect of local government, including — but not limited to — water supply, streets and highways, parks and recreation, wastewater collection and treatment, public finance, public transportation, stormwater and flood control, technology, solid waste collection and treatment, public safety, county management, building maintenance and construction, and grounds maintenance.
Municipal Leader of the Year nominees can be any city employee or elected official who has demonstrated outstanding leadership in the last year. The winner is profiled in the November issue of the magazine and recognized at the National League of Cities’ Annual Conference.
There are no restrictions on who can submit nominations. Download entry forms for all of the awards. Call Bill Wolpin at 770-618-0112 or e-mail [email protected] for additional information.
