DigiTicket software allows police officers to scan a driver’s license barcode during a traffic stop with a mobile computer that automatically captures the data in an electronic ticket. Using a wireless connection, the officer can transmit information in near real-time to the city’s records management systems, eliminating manual data entry and allowing quick access to ticket information by court clerks and other departments. The digiTicket system decreases the amount of time officers are required to stand along the side of the road, which reduces the risk of accident or death to law enforcement officers.
