Lenexa, Kan., has received the Excellence in the Constructed Project Award from the Denver-based U.S. Society on Dams for the Lake Lenexa Dam and Spillway.
Lenexa, Kan., has received the Excellence in the Constructed Project Award from the Denver-based U.S. Society on Dams for the Lake Lenexa Dam and Spillway. The dam and spillway, along with a nearby park, are part of the city’s “Rain to Recreation” program, which led to the creation of the lake to control flooding and for recreational purposes. The dam and spillway were designed and constructed by Overland Park, Kan.-based Black & Veatch.
