Atlanta resident Joshua Pechter thought he was doing his share to keep his neighborhood park well maintained. According to the city, however, he was a lawbreaker with a rake. Pechter is the head of a project to maintain Mayson Ravine Park per an agreement between the city and Pechter’s neighborhood, according to local media, but when he tried to put down some mulch recently a city public works inspector ticketed him for not having a permit. “Nobody wants to do these projects if you’re going to get in trouble,” Pechter told television station WSBTV. Pechter faced a $1,000 fine, but the city’s public works department released a statement to the press saying it did not plan to pursue the matter.
