The Model 0101 Sledgehammer hard-drive crusher destroys all computer hard drives regardless of their size, format or type, including 3.5- and 2.5-inch technology. The unit makes it easy for hospitals, data centers and other facilities to destroy large quantities of confidential/sensitive information in a timely manner in accordance with government regulations and industry standards. To operate, place a drive (or multiple laptop/notebook drives) in the crusher, close the safety door and press a button; the button engages a conical punch inside the unit, delivering a staggering 12,000 pounds of hydraulic force and causing catastrophic trauma to the hard drive’s chassis while destroying its internal platter. Destruction takes 10 seconds. A standard 120-volt wall outlet is adequate to power the unit.
