APWA, NARC sign cooperative agreement
The Kansas City, Mo.-based American Public Works Association (APWA) and the Washington-based National Association of Regional Councils (NARC) have signed a memorandum of understanding to work together in addressing public works and local government issues. The memorandum formalizes the working relationship between APWA and NARC, and allows APWA chapters and regional councils to form local partnerships.
Under the agreement, APWA and NARC will collaborate on training and management practices, education programs, lobbying for policy and legislative changes favored by the groups, and jointly pursue grants and other funding. “We’re at a critical juncture in the history of our nation’s economy and infrastructure, and it’s important we work together to meet common goals,” APWA Past President Larry Frevert said in a statement. “By sharing information and expertise, we can further programs and projects that will have a lasting impact on not only our members, but also all of the citizens we serve.”
