New Web site educates governments on National Emergency Management Network
A new Web site aims to provide information to new and current members of the National Emergency Management Network (NEMN), a network of local governments focused on increasing emergency management capacity nationwide. The site, www.nemn.net, includes an “about NEMN” page, a news and information page, and a free online demo on how the network can enhance existing emergency management efforts.
The Fairfax, Va.-based Public Entity Risk Institute formed NEMN, along with the Washington-based International City/County Management Association, and members have access to educational resources and software, including a database of people and physical assets that are available for emergency response and recovery efforts. NEMN also offers a geo-mapping and situational awareness tool that identifies, selects, activates, tracks and manages assets before, during and after an emergency.
