Conference aims to help small firms gain government business
Whether these fears are real or just misconceptions, there is help available. On Oct. 1, Garfield Heights, Ohio-based GSA Federal Solutions Inc. will present a conference aimed at helping small firms learn how to do business with the government. The aptly titled “Doing Business with the Government” conference will take place from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., with a networking reception from 5 to 7 p.m., at the InterContinental Hotel in Cleveland.
Conference organizers promise that the event will offer small businesses a chance to network with more than 20 organizations, including local-, state- and federal-government agencies and corporations. Invited guests include officials from the U.S. General Services Administration (GSA), the U.S. Small Business Administration and the Department of Homeland Security.
Topics on the agenda include:
- The GSA federal supply schedules.
- Subcontracting opportunities.
- Financing for small businesses.
Cost of the conference is $125 ($99 for members of COSE, the small-business division of the Greater Cleveland Partnership), which includes a gourmet lunch and the networking reception.
