Organizations take votes on best transportation project
Heathrow, Fla.-based AAA, the U.S. Chamber of Commerce and the Washington-based American Association of State Highway and Transportation Officials are taking votes from the public on which of 10 candidates is the nation’s best transportation project. Votes will be collected online, and the winner will be announced Oct. 19.
The 10 finalists are: MacArthur Maze in Oakland, Calif.; open road tolling in Miami-Dade County, Fla.; the Interstate 35 interchange in Lenexa and Overland Park, Kan.; the Woodrow Wilson Bridge between Washington and Maryland and Virginia; TH36 N St. Paul reconstruction in St. Paul, Minn.; the Saint Louis Bay Bridge in Bay Saint Louis, Miss.; Route 830 Airport Access in Jefferson County, Pa.; the Iway Bridge float project in Providence, R.I.; the 4500 South Bridge replacement in Salt Lake City, Utah; and the Tacoma Narrows Bridge in Tacoma, Wash.
