Door and frame join forces for sound control
Model STC 43 Sound Control Door and Frame System, manufactured in cooperation with Overly Door Co., includes door, frame, automatic door bottom, gasketing and any options ordered—all shipped in one wooden crate to maximize freight protection. Can be engineered and delivered in less than 1 month, versus industry-standard lead times of 6 to 8 weeks. The doors and frames are ideal for reducing noise in office complexes, conference rooms, museums, sound studios, band rooms, hospitals and other areas. Designed for use in drywall, masonry and other applications. Each system combines a 16-gauge steel door with a 14-gauge steel frame. Seamless welded-edge construction reduces sound transmission through the steel faces of each side of door. Semi-mortised automatic door bottom compresses tightly against the floor, preventing sound escape at the threshold. In addition, silicone bubble seals allow use of a wide range of electrical hardware without compromising sensitive electronics. Available with UL rating up to 90 minutes. Accepts 412- or 5-in. heavyweight hinges for installation. Options include electrified hinges, galvannealed material, fire labels and paired opening configurations.
