Gary Layda, photographer for Nashville, Tenn., submitted this photo of the new Cumberland River Pedestrian Bridge, which is part of the city’s expanding greenway system. The 700-foot bridge celebrated its grand opening May 3, 2008. Designed by Chicago-based Consoer Townsend Envirodyne Engineers and built by Brentwood, Tenn.-based Bell and Associates Construction, the bridge connects the 1,150-acre Shelby Bottoms and Park to the 384-acre Two Rivers Park.
