Fountains beautify grounds, improve water quality, benefit wildlife
Placing fountains in ponds and lakes not only adds aesthetic beauty to golf course grounds, but the aeration also increases circulation and oxygenation
Placing fountains in ponds and lakes not only adds aesthetic beauty to golf course grounds, but the aeration also increases circulation and oxygenation of thermal-stratified water and stimulates the natural biodegradation of organic matter such as grass clippings, leaves, runoff and wildlife waste. Also prevents the spring/fall turnover that causes fish kills, controls the mosquito population, reduces algae growth and controls pond odor. EVFX-series aerating fountain (shown) creates a V-shape display that mixes up to 2,550 L per minute. Four models offer 0.5 to 3 hp at 220 volts and range from 2.2 to 12.5 amps. Each fountain includes pump, float with mooring ropes and power cord. Kasco Marine Inc., Prescott, Wis.
