Thunderbirds soar in skies over Florida
Charisse Coventry, systems analyst for Ft. Myers, Fla., took this photo at the 28th Annual Florida International Air Show at the Charlotte County Airport last month. The photo features four of the 12 jets in the U.S. Air Force Thunderbirds. The squadron, whose name was influenced in part by the Indian culture and folklore of the Southwestern United States where the unit was born, includes nine F-16C single-seat aircraft and three F-16D two-seat aircraft.
