Financial Times, Urban Land Institute seek entries for Sustainable Cities Award
The Washington-based Urban Land Institute (ULI) and England’s Financial Times (FT) have extended the deadline for entering the FT ULI Sustainable Cities Award contest to March 31. Up to seven winners from around the world will be announced at ULI and FT’s Sustainable Cities conference in London on June 16.
Entrants must have land use programs that show innovation and effectiveness in advancing environmental, economic and social sustainability. Public agencies will compete against corporations and non-government agencies. “We believe these awards will provide an effective means of encouraging best practice in this important area,” said FT Chief Executive John Ridding. “Actions speak louder than words, and these awards will recognize, reward and stimulate the right actions.”
Information on entering the competition is available at www.sustainablecitiesaward.org.
