Tampa Bay Water announced in January that its Seawater Desalination Plant is now fully operational. At 25 million gallons per day, the plant provides about 10 percent of the Tampa Bay region’s drinking water supply from the sea. Voorhees, N.J.-based American Water and Madrid, Spain-based Acciona Agua operate the facility through their subsidiary, American Water-Pridesa. For more information, visit www.tampabaywater.org.
