Dodge to unleash new generation pickup
Set to debut in fall 2008, the all-new, next-generation 2009 Dodge Ram 1500 boasts a 5.7-L HEMI V-8 that produces 380 hp and 404 lb.-ft. of torque, a 4.7-L, 310-hp V-8 and a 3.7-L, 215-hp V-6 in four- and five-speed automatic transmissions and with part-time or on-demand four-wheel-drive transfer cases. Equipped with the new HEMI, the Ram R/T regular-cab 4X2 model with a short bed and 4:10 gears blasts from 0-60 mph in 6.1 seconds. Multi-link coil-spring rear suspension improves ride and handling without sacrificing payload (up to 1,850 lbs.) and towing capacity (up to 9,100 lbs.). Features redesigned exterior, premium amenities and more than 30 active and passive safety features. Offered in regular cab, Quad Cab and first-ever crew-size cab in three box lengths: 8-ft. regular cab; 6-ft.-4-in. regular cab and Quad Cab; and new-for-2009, 5-ft.-7-in. Ram crew 1500.
