Automated refuse collection vehicle features stronger arm
Rapid Rail continuous pack automated side loader features improvements to its automated arm structure, electrical system and hydraulics. To strengthen arm, engineers designed a tapered cross-section main lift beam to better match the stresses imposed on backbone of lift. Cross section grows taller near pivot point of lift where maximum stress occurs. Teeth on new grabber gears are 80% larger. Mechanical limit switches have been replaced with modern proximity switches that need minimal adjustment. Electric shift valve has been replaced with a “soft shift” valve metered by advanced controls. As a result, arm moves more smoothly. A cable carrier added to the arm houses all hydraulic hoses and an electrical loom, allowing hoses to move and flex while minimizing rubbing that can lead to wear.
