Infrared pavement sensor reads road surface temperatures
Non-obtrusive thermo-Q sensor uses stationary, single-target, non-contact monitoring to measure pavement temperature and relay reliable readings during any weather conditions. Mounts onto existing roadside weather stations or other structures with a clear, unobstructed view of roadway pavement. Measures distance up to 75 ft. at 30° to 85° from horizontal and temperatures from -67 to 140 F. Uses radiation pyrometer sensor to measure radiation emitted from the surface and focus it onto an internal thermopile that converts the data to temperature reading. Transmits once per second to a remote processing unit via sensor cable. Sensor interfaces with existing RWIS networks. Weatherproof housing protects electronics from rain and snow.
