The Washington-based International City/County Management Association (ICMA) is helping local governments keep their important records safe from natural and manmade disasters. ICMA is working with the Iowa City, Iowa-based Council of State Archivists’ (CoSA) Local Government Archives Task Force on the project.
The task force is part of CoSA’s “Closest to Home” project, which aims to define the services, standards and funding strategies needed for the long-term preservation of and access to local government records. More information on that project is available at
