ICMA to hold audio conference on manager/council member relationships
The Washington-based International City/County Management Association (ICMA) will hold an audio conference on June 26 aimed at teaching city and county managers how to improve relationships with the council members for whom they work. Topics for the audio conference include ways to make new and seasoned council members more effective, the new roles that mayors and councils are undertaking, and the “myth of council working as a team.”
Former city manager and CEO of Dynamic Relations Martin Vanacour and North Glenn, Colo., Mayor Kathie Novak will conduct the audio conference, which will include a 30-minute question and answer session. The registration fee is $99 for ICMA members and $149 for non-members. The fee includes all members of the city/county managers’ staff. Go to www.icma.org for registration information.
