GSA Selects Manager for ATF Headquarters Retail Facilities
The U.S. General Services Administration has named the award of a management contract to NOMA Retail, LLC, for retail space adjacent to the new Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives (ATF) headquarters building in Washington, DC.
The award is for 8,000 sq. ft. of retail space and is part of the ATF headquarters complex located across the street from the New York Avenue Metro station, on 2nd Street NE, near Florida Avenue.
The retail manager is responsible for marketing the retail space, overseeing the design and construction of individual shops, and ongoing management. The first retail tenant is expected to be operational at approximately the same time that ATF completes moves into its new headquarters in the summer of 2007. The ATF complex was designed by architect Moshe Safdie.
“This is but one example in the District of Columbia where GSA is helping to revitalize neighborhoods close to downtown,” says Ann Everett, Acting Regional Administrator for GSA’s National Capital Region. “The North of Massachusetts Avenue area, the Near Southeast, and Anacostia will all benefit from having a federal presence in their midst.”
