Public works show slated for September in San Antonio, Texas
Humor columnist Dave Barry will be a guest speaker at the Kansas City, Mo.-based American Public Works Association (APWA) 2007 International Public Works Congress and Exposition, scheduled for September. More than 6,500 public works professionals are expected to attend the event, which will be held at the Henry B. Gonzalez Convention Center in San Antonio, Texas.
Along with Barry, the event will feature 150 education sessions and exhibits by more than 450 companies. A new event, Workshop Wednesday, will allow attendees to focus on certain topics with expert speakers in a workshop format. “We’ve revamped our dynamic education session format and are preparing for one of our best shows yet,” says APWA Executive Director Peter King.
Barry will speak during the exposition’s opening general session. Registration information is available at www.apwa.net/meetings/congress/2007/. For more information, contact Becky Wickstrom, APWA Media Affairs Manager, at (202) 218-6736 or at [email protected]
