Fire chiefs’ association taking nominations for four award programs
The Fairfax, Va.-based International Association of Fire Chiefs is accepting nominations for four awards programs. The awards recognize fire departments and individuals for achievement in emergency medical and fire prevention services.
The Heart Save Community Award recognizes agencies that have improved out-of-hospital resuscitation through deployment of automatic electronic defibrillators and other programs. The deadline to enter is March 9.
The Safety, Health & Survival Awards recognize agencies and individuals that have contributed significantly to health and safety in their service areas. The deadline is March 31.
The Fire Service Award for Excellence will go to the agency that demonstrates innovative ways to manage resources to reduce the loss of life and property. The deadline is June 1.
June 1 is also the deadline to enter nominations for the Benjamin Franklin Fire Service Award for Valor. The award goes to individual or multiple firefighters who save human lives in the course of duty.
