Monolithic HighwayDrain provides both grate and trench drain cast as a single unit from polymer concrete resins reinforced with mineral aggregates and fillers. Features high-capacity inlet slots that alleviate storm water ponding and large tapered openings that allow debris to pass through without blocking openings. Smooth 8-in. internal width and 0.6 percent slope ensure sufficient drainage and hydraulics for most road catchment areas. Boasts up to 4 times the compressive strength of cement concrete and minimal water absorption that prevents freeze-thaw breakdown. Modular casting ensures that components will not vibrate loose from high-speed traffic. Comes in 4-ft.-long sections with male/female locking ends. Installs quickly without bracing, minimizing road closures and traffic delays due to construction. Also suits applications where drainage cannot be positioned outside main traffic flow, and heavy vehicular traffic areas such as distribution depots and truck stops. Polymer concrete complies with DIN 19580 Class E for strength, and meets B117 salt spray test for road salt and other pollutants.
