Chicago has a plan for evacuating its central business district in an emergency, and on Sept. 7 that plan will be put to the test. Mayor Richard Daley’s administration is planning a drill that will involve several downtown buildings, enough to test the plan without causing a major disturbance, according to the Chicago Tribune. While city officials would not specify which buildings would be in the drill, high-rises containing the city’s biggest financial and legal firms, like the Chicago Mercantile Exchange Center, are expected to participate.
