A combination of factors seems to be causing some confusion for residents using direct-reporting electronic (DRE) voting machines in New York. A report by the Brennan Center for Justice at New York University School of Law shows that using a “full face” ballot showing all the candidates and races on one screen seems to cause trouble for voters using the DRE machines, according to The New York Times. New York is looking at different types of voting machines to replace the old lever machines that are still in use across the state.
