Lapd Chief Blogs For Better Relations
The Los Angeles Police Department now has a blog that Police Chief William Bratton hopes will encourage better communication with the public.
In Bratton’s first few posts on the new blog, he has discussed such issues as the department’s improved accuracy in crime reporting and the installation of computer systems that track and categorize different types of crime across precincts.
Bratton challenges claims that crime in the city is rising, but is adamant that the department is nevertheless looking to reverse problems the department has struggled with in the past.
The department is planning several technology initiatives, including the installation of surveillance cameras in patrol cars and the development of an electronic system that tracks disciplinary actions taken against officers.
