Fulton County, Ga., has decided to sell six parks that are inside the newly formed city of Sandy Springs, a move Sandy Springs Mayor Eva Galambos calling vindictive. Sandy Springs incorporated on Dec. 1 after decades of fighting for independence from the county, according to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution. City officials and three members of the Fulton County Commission who voted against the sale of the parks, are protesting the decision and vowing to try to keep the land from development. County officials say the city is welcome to bid on the land, which is valued at $27.6 million.
