The Los Angeles County morgue, built to hold up to 350 bodies, is currently storing over 400 unclaimed corpses, creating a population problem for the facility. The county’s coroner says it’s been their policy to try to return bodies to families, but population growth, illegal immigration and familial estrangement have slowed that process, according to the Los Angeles Times. To address the problem the morgue may have to build an annex or quicken the rate for cremating remains. http://www.latimes.com/news/local/la-me-morgue12may12,0,4381677.story?coll=la-home-local
