A regional planning group in New Jersey is recommending property tax reform that could limit urban sprawl. The Regional Plan Association wants the state to consider a two-tiered system that would charge more for property than buildings, according to The Times of Trenton. The group says the system would encourage developers to “build up,” not “build out.” The New Jersey legislature is expected to pass some type of property tax reform this year. http://www.nj.com/statehouse/times/index.ssf?/base/news-0/11467303544710.xml&coll=5
