Emission-free electric car boasts same width as a motorcycle
Two-seat Tango T600 measures just 39 ins. wide and 60 ins. high, with 39-in.-high headroom for driver and passenger. Thanks to 8-ft. length, vehicle can park perpendicular to curb. Zips along freeways, maneuvers easily in heavy traffic, and parks in congested, motorcycle-sized spaces. Accelerates from zero to 60 m.p.h. in about 4 secs., plus reaches top speed of 150 m.p.h. For an average commuter, cost per mile is about 50% the price of fueling a gasoline-powered car. Runs on rechargeable batteries (either 19, 228-v. Hawker Odyssey or 25, 300-v. Exide Orbital XCDs). Offers travel range of 60 to 80 miles before requiring recharge, plus includes 50-amp. on-board charger. For extended range, vehicle accepts standard 1-in. hitch for towing separate generator. Two bucket seats feature attached 4-point safety harness. With rear seat installed, vehicle provides room for driver, passenger, and a few bags of groceries or other cargo. For additional storage space, remove rear seat and adjust drivers seat to extended position. Also has multiple storage compartments for small items. Amenities include built-in air conditioner and heater for climate control.
