Wild Horses And Burros Up For Adoption In Kentucky Nov. 4-6
More than 100 wild horse and burros will be offered for adoption by the U.S. Department of Interior’ Bureau of Land Managment-Eastern States at Lakeside Arena, Frankfort, KY.
The animals are gathered each year to control the population, maintain an ecological balance on western rangelands, and preserve mustangs as ‘living legends.’
Animals will arrive for viewing Nov. 4, from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m; adoptions will be held Nov. 5 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Nov. 6 from 8 a.m. to noon.
Gentled wild horses in the United States are used for trail riding, dressage, western events, and other disciplines. The animals are noted for their endurance, sure-footedness and intelligence.
Burros are great companion animals and are sometimes used by farmers for predator control.
