This week, gun laws go into effect in Alaska that will prevent municipalities from carrying laws on their books that are more prohibitive than those of the state. According to an Associated Press story on CNN.com, Alaska police chiefs worry that the law — which lifts restrictions on firearms in vehicles and concealed weapons — will make banning guns from public buildings, such as city halls, more difficult.
