A proposed ordinance directed toward nightclubs and bars in Tallahassee, Fla., would give police more power in enforcing the city’s fire prevention code. According to the Tallahassee Democrat, rather than first having to seek approval from the fire department’s nightclub inspector, police officers would have the authority to remove patrons of overcrowded bars and arrest uncooperative owners, occupants and operators.
