Metro Transit for the Twin Cities area is trying out a system that allows riders to put money on a smart card, which can be scanned at the front of buses, automatically deducting the fare.
Metro Transit for the Twin Cities area is trying out a system that allows riders to put money on a smart card, which can be scanned at the front of buses, automatically deducting the fare. According to the Pioneer Press, the plan has been in the works for nearly two years, but was delayed by a number of problems, including cracked and failing cards, computer glitches and nonfunctioning card readers.
