“Can I see your license, registration and naked body?” A former Holly Hill, S.C., police officer has been charged with four counts of misconduct that he could have avoided by buying a Playboy. According to The Associated Press, Mark Wright, 36, pulled over women driving with suspended licenses and instructed them to follow him back to the police station. Once inside, Wright offered to drop the charges if the women would allow him to videotape them stripping. The State Law Enforcement Division seized copies of the videotapes from Wright’s apartment in January.
Witch mania rekindled in Salem. The small town of Salem, Mass., attracts approximately 800,000 visitors a year intrigued by the mystery and fantasy of the witch trials that occurred more than 300 years ago. According to The Associated Press, in honor of the “witch kitsch,” Salem and cable network TV Land constructed a tribute to the Western World’s most famous witch, Elizabeth Montgomery, who played leading lady Samantha on the 1960s sitcom “Bewitched.” Although some Salem residents say the statue is offensive because it exploits the murders of innocent people, the nine-foot-tall, bronze statue made its debut June 15.
