California okays lower wages for housing projects

low-income building projects that receive tax credits or tax-exempt bonds do
not have to pay prevailing wages.
The California Department of Industrial Relations recently ruled that low-income building projects that receive tax credits or tax-exempt bonds do not have to pay prevailing wages. According to the San Diego Daily Transcript, low-income housing projects will no longer be considered public works projects, required by state law to pay prevailing wages.
