The Germantown, Wis., Town Board typically haggles over road repairs and rezoning requests in a homey environment—the town clerk’s kitchen. According to the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel, Clerk Joyce Dhein doesn’t cook for the regular monthly meetings but has been known to serve dinner when the tax assessor holds his annual review of assessment complaints.
