EXTRA, EXTRA/Surety bonds guide for risky business
The Washington-based Surety Information Office has created a CD-ROM to answer questions about the contract surety bonding process and how surety bonds protect taxpayer dollars. “Surety Bonds: A Guide for Public Construction” is designed for public construction administrators, such as public risk managers, municipal, state and federal officials, purchasing agents or any person involved in administering public works projects. The CD-ROM includes three audio-narrated presentations that address managing risk on public works, contractor failure and a surety claims case study. It also includes links to online publications and Web sites. Free copies of the CD-ROM are available by calling (202) 686-7463, e-mailing [email protected] or visiting www.sio.org.
