Milwaukee drivers may be required to prepay for gas
In a measure narrowly approved by Milwaukee’s Common Council committee, drivers may be required to prepay for gas in an effort to reduce, if not eliminate, “drive offs” and avoid the police time spent on the calls. According to the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel, the council’s Utilities and Licenses Committee voted 3-2 in favor of the measure, which goes to a full council vote September 21. Some critics argue that the change will hurt businesses and leave the impression that the city is unsafe.
