San Diego passes requirements for recycled water use in large buildings
Despite the warnings from businesses and the building industry that construction costs would rise, a San Diego City Council committee passed new requirements for the use of recycled water for large buildings. The construction of a second pipe will be required in large buildings for reclaimed water, or water purified in treatment facilities, to be used for things like landscaping and heating and air conditioning systems. Buildings that will require the second pipe include those taller than 55 feet, totaling more than 80,000 square feet, servicing an occupancy of more than 800 individuals, or those using 20 acre-feet of water per year. http://story.news.yahoo.com/news?tmpl=story&cid=312&ncid=312&e=2&u=/sddt/20040805/lo_sddt/recycledwaterregulationpassescommittee
