The Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors recently voted to remove a small cross from the county seal. The American Civil Liberties Union of Southern California wrote a letter, threatening a lawsuit if the cross was not removed. About a thousand protesters waited as the board met with representatives from the ACLU as they decided to replace the cross with depictions of a Spanish mission and Native Americans. http://www.naco.org/Template.cfm?Section=Publications&template=/ContentManagement/ContentDisplay.cfm&ContentID=12847
