Town To Help Pay Way For New Computers
The Police Department in Madisonville, La., will receive $3,000 for interior construction that will enable it to install and utilize about $26,000 worth of computer equipment. The work will be done by volunteers, as a company would have charged around $11,900 for the work.
The computer equipment was bought with Louisiana Commission on Law Enforcement grants, with some of it being donated though a company owned by volunteer police officer Freddie Manint.
Police also plan to put an arbor and two trellises by the door, small stepping stones from the parking lot to the door, a sign to separate the department from the fire department, and a fence around the building.
