NACo and USDA pledge to work together on rural economic development
The National Association of Counties (NACo) and the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) signed a Memorandum of Understanding" Wednesday at USDA’s headquarters in Washington, D.C.
The National Association of Counties (NACo) and the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) signed a Memorandum of Understanding” Wednesday at USDA’s headquarters in Washington, D.C. Agriculture Secretary Ann Veneman and NACo President Karen Miller signed the document in front of USDA officials and NACo’s Rural Action Caucus. According to a NACo press release, the two organizations pledged “to work collaboratively on issues of mutual interest, including rural community and economic development, land-use planning, agriculture, water resource management and fire suppression in national forests.”
