One Stop School Shop, Inc. Launches National School Donation Campaign

As education budgets drop, parents’ financial participation continues to rise and principals search for new ways to raise funds with no additional administrative burden on their staff. Many schools are turning to One Stop School Shop to provide a much- needed check at the beginning of every school year.

On a national level, schools require parents to pay and bring bags of school supplies on day 1. The National Retail Federation quotes that families spent per child $441.60 in 2002 and $450.76 in 2003, with school supplies equaling 16% of the total or $70.66 and $72.12, respectively.

One Stop attains school supply lists from the schools in advance, so parents can click, pay, and have all the school supplies delivered to their door, saving valuable time and aggravation at the local Wal-Mart or Staples during the back-to- school frenzy.

Why do schools sign up? One Stop donates 10% of the school kit costs back to the school in a check. Everybody wins. Schools get donations, parents get quality school products delivered to their door saving time, money and hassles. One Stop’s product line extends beyond school supplies to backpacks, uniforms, lunch containers, flashcards, dictionaries, art supplies, etc.

“One Stop saved me so much frustration–no cutoff dates for orders, no unpacking boxes, no enlisting volunteers to distribute packs,” said Jeni Ayers, “The Nook” Book Store Manager, The Benjamin School in North Palm Beach, Florida. “Students had the correct school supplies on the first day. Teachers, parents and students were extremely happy with the high-quality products and the one click ordering.”

One Stop is comprised of parents, teachers and businesspeople. The CEO and founder, Glenda Sidman, has taught high school French and Spanish for 25 years. As a mother of three children, Sidman saw the need to capture the technological convenience of ordering customized school supply kits and uniforms online making life easier for busy parents.

“One Stop has established an excellent reputation for customer service by delivering high-quality, competitively priced products and services that satisfy needs of parents and educators,” stated Sidman. “As we enter our 4th year of operations, we have proven that One Stop can successfully run a business and donate money directly to the schools. Everybody wins.”

And business is booming. One Stop is a key player in the growing, $2.64 billion, e-commerce, direct-to-consumer, school supply industry. Current competitive analysis indicates that One Stop is the only school supply vendor using school lists, adding no administrative burden to schools, and making direct donations to the schools in a check.

“We established our school supply requirements by grade level and One Stop took it from there,” stated Jan Zeller, PTA President of Mechanicsville Elementary School, Finksburg, Maryland. “Our parents were thrilled to have the entire list of 40 items delivered, one box per child, to their door. And the prices were comparable to the big stores.”

As education dollars continue to be squeezed, every school district in 48 states is searching for innovative fundraising opportunities. Not only does One Stop provide an easy, non-burdensome manner for schools to raise funds, One Stop also provides a convenient solution to everyday parent aggravations. One Stop ships to 48 states.
