Water Production Supervisor
Lake Havasu City, AZ the second fastest growing non-metro community in Arizona is seeking a highly motivated individual to fill a newly created position within the Water Division as a Water Production Supervisor. Salary $21.23-$32.45/hourly DOQ Plus Benefits. Requires: High School diploma or G.E.D supplemented by coursework related to supervisory principles and 7 years experience in water treatment, chemical injection, plant operation with 1 year in a supervisory capacity; or, an equivalent combination of experience and training to perform the essential duties of the job. Possession of a state issued water treatment certification is required with copies to be submitted upon application. Ability to obtain Arizona water certification to meet system requirements as established by A.D.E.Q. This position reports directly to the city’s Water Division Manager and is ranked fourth in a five level tier of responsibility. Lake Havasu City is located on the banks of the Colorado River, 150 miles south of Las Vegas, Nevada. With it’s year-round warm climate, recreational advantages and central location between major cities such as Phoenix, Las Vegas, and Los Angeles, the city’s water users will vary from 47,000 full-time residents to 80,000 or more recreational or part-time residents. The successful candidate will oversee all functions of the new 26mgd Water Treatment Plant as well as all existing booster stations, wells and production related facilities. The plant now under construction and scheduled for start-up within the next few months is currently the first of its kind within the United States utilizing a biological manganese removal process. Other major responsibilities include supervising a staff of 14 full-time and 3 part-time employees, water quality control, EPA and ADEQ water quality sampling, testing and reporting.
