Atlanta saves $500K through energy conservation
Atlanta has trimmed its energy bill by nearly $500,000 so far in 2003 through an energy-conservation program. According to The Atlanta Journal-Constitution,
Atlanta has trimmed its energy bill by nearly $500,000 so far in 2003 through an energy-conservation program. According to The Atlanta Journal-Constitution, the program, which was launched last August, consists of several components. For example, employees make sure that lights, computers, and heating and cooling systems in city buildings are turned off at night, and procurement officers purchase energy-efficient light bulbs and office equipment. The program, which included analysis of the city’s energy use and training in conservation, is funded through a grant from the Georgia Environmental Facilities Authority. For more information, visit
