Assistant Water Director
The Town of Normal is looking for an energetic, customer-oriented professional to assist in the management of our Water Department. This position assists in supervising the operational divisions of the department; performs construction plan reviews and meter sizing for all development projects; supervises construction projects, such as water main installations and repairs; and assists in preparing, administering and monitoring the Department budget and expenditures.
Normal is located in the heart of Central Illinois and is home to Illinois State University and several major, regional and national employers. The Town of Normal is part of a 140,000 SMSA population. It offers our residents with many amenities typical of large urban centers while retaining the feel of a smaller community. The Town of Normal is equidistant to Chicago, St. Louis and Indianapolis.
The starting salary will be up to $62,500 DOQ. The successful candidate will be a self-motivated team member with strong knowledge of operations, services, activities and technology of a comprehensive water program; and possesses a Bachelor’s Degree in Environmental Sciences, Public Administration, Civil Engineering, or related; and have at least four years of supervisory experience in water systems.
