Water Treatment Plant Operator
The City of Harrisburg is accepting applications/resumes for the position of Water Treatment Plant Operator. This position is responsible for the performance of skilled work in the operation and maintenance of the Dr. Robert E. Young Water Services Center and at various other Bureau of Water facilities. Work is performed under the general supervision and direction of the Operation Supervisor who gives assignments orally and in writing.
Applicants must possess a high school diploma or G.E.D and training in water treatment or related education. Applicants must also possess a Pennsylvania Commercial Driver’s License (CDL), Class B, or obtaining it within 240 days from the date of hire and must obtain a Pennsylvania Water Treatment Operator Class D Type I License within two (2) years of meeting minimum operating experience in this classification.
Residency within the corporate limits of the City of Harrisburg is required within six (6) months from completion of probationary period.
We offer a competitive salary package ($25,975.04, increases to $30,558.87 after six months) including City-paid medical, vision, prescription drug, and dental coverages for employee and family, pension and deferred compensation plans, life insurance and paid leave.
